The wonderful sunrises, when out on the early morning safari are beautiful, not to mention the vast amount of wildlife to be seen. I saw Lions Rhino, & Buffalo, Giraffe, Cheetah, Leopard, Elephants, Deer, Zebra, Wildebeest, in fact I saw all the big 5 and much much more, not to mention the birds. The Huge herds of elephants are not to be missed, walking slowly right in front of the vehicle, with their babies. their huge tusks are just amazing. I watched hundreds in not thousands of Wildebeest on their Migration, hundreds of Zebra mixed in among them on the vast plains of Africa. I watched about 30 Hyenas challenging a pride of Lions for their Kill, with several fights breaking out and seeing how the Hyenas are so formidable, they can actually take a kill away from a Lion!! Our Guide Kelvin was so knowledgeable about his beloved Africa and the wonderful wildlife it was great to hear stories about the animals, as well as their habits and lives. Kelvin also knew all there is to know about the birds too, and I am passionate about them, and got some wonderful photos of not only the wild animals but the beautiful Superb Starlings, and the brightly coloured Bee Eaters, and Lilac Fronted Roller. The accommodation Kelvin secured for me, was lovely, it was clean and I never saw an insect or got bitten the whole holiday. The rooms were spotless and even a hot water bottle was provided in my bed for the cold nights. The food was incredible, no matter what your taste, there is something for everyone. A vast amount to choose from in the meat & vegetable department, not to mention the fabulous array of deserts too! The local tribes arrived every night to dance for us which was amazing. I have never met such friendly, smiling people. Always on hand to help or advise you whatever you need. cold water always available in the safari vehicle, with a blanket for cold morning safaris too. Wifi available while our on safari! I had al fresco breakfasts out on safari provided by the hotel, it was always lovely and once we shared our breakfast with some huge gentle Storks!! I cannot emphasise enough the amazing sight of the Wildebeest migration, it is something no one should miss. The whole holiday was amazing in every way. We had quite a few changes and ideas along the way, and kelvin accommodated every single one with patience and expertise. His communication was consistent, clear, and always open to our suggestions. It made the planning process smooth and stress-free. During the safari, we were lucky to be guided by felix —an absolute gem of a guide. Felix made our entire trip come alive. His deep knowledge of Kenya’s wildlife, culture, history, and geography was remarkable. He didn’t just drive us from place to place—he enriched every moment with stories, facts, and a genuine passion for what he does. What made Felix stand out even more was his sharp eye—he could spot animals from incredible distances and always knew the best angles for photography. He is a great birder and been photographers we ticked a lot of birds. Thanks to him, we saw the Big Five up close, as well as countless other animals in their natural habitat. He made sure we never missed a thing. But beyond being an excellent guide, Felix was kind, thoughtful, and fun to be around. He always made sure we were comfortable, safe, and enjoying every moment. By the end of the trip, he felt more like a friend than a guide. If you’re considering a safari in Kenya, I can’t recommend Ziwani Safaris highly enough—and if you can request kelvin and felix as your tour leader and guide, do it! It will be the adventure of a lifetime.
