Overview

The 3 days Lake Mburo National Park safari is a trip to Uganda’s smallest park. Lake Mburo National Park situated in Western Uganda and is home to numerous wildlife including; zebras, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, leopards, jackals, elands, and over 300 bird species. Game drives, birding excursions, boat cruises, guided nature walks and hikes, are some of the adventures enjoyed in the park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Lake Mburo National Park

You will enjoy a scenic drive through lush greenery, steep landscapes, rugged hills and a mass of serene countryside, to Lake Mburo National Park situated in the Western region of Uganda. Once you arrive at the park, you will unwind and set out for a guided nature walk and hike through the woodlands where you will sight several forest birds and mammals. A hike to the top of the hill will reward you with a spectacular view of nine of the region’s fourteen lakes. Accomodation-Eagle’s Nest. Meal plan-Lunch and Dinner.

 

Day 2: Full Day Lake Mburo National Park

In the early morning, you will hit one of the park’s networks of game tracks for viewing opportunities. While driving through, you will sight many wildlife species including; zebras, elands, waterbucks, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas and topis. In the afternoon, you will embark on a 2-hour boat cruise on Lake Mburo. You will spot crocodiles and hippos at the banks, and a variety of water birds. Besides sailing, you can crown your excursion with spot fishing on the lake. Meal plan-Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

 

Day 3: Kampala

You will embark on a bird watching excursion in any of the park’s famous birding spots; the swampy valleys of Warukiri and Miriti, the roadsides between Rwonyo camp and the jetty, the viewing platforms at the salt licks, and Rubanga forest. After the excursion, you will embark on your return trip to Kampala. This will mark the end of your safari. Duration: 8 hours Meals included: Breakfast No accommodation included on this day.
