Lake Ellis is the 3nd highest lake in mount Kenya, but the 2nd largest ,after lake Alice at the altitude of 3650m,and Erick Dutton a British tourist was the 1st to visit in 1927.it is on the chogoria route side of mount Kenya and is popular for fishing and the first day break when attempting to hike mount Kenya on the chogoria route side. The terrain is rocky and alpine scrub land, covered with tussock grass and un designed trails. Giant billiards and mugi hills are seen once you folk up the hills. Dinner and overnight at the lake Ellis camp.
